Eagles Sink Pirates

match_reportYour Cardiff Eagles went into yesterday’s game with Plymouth looking to bed in some new signings.
Ross Hutchinson freshly back from a shoulder op opened the scoring after 5 mins. That goal allowed the eagles to settle their nerves before Luke Hopkins was to double the lead with 3 minutes remaining in the first period. The scores was to remain at 2-0 going into the period break
7 minutes into the second and Dave Wamner was to find the net with a shot from the point. Luke Hopkins was to add to the lead a minute later. More back and fore from both teams before Scott Townsend was to open his seasons account with a goal at 37:12. A minute later and Luke Hopkins was to round off his hat trick with a unassisted goal. The period was to end with the eagles up 6-0.
Into the third and Paolo Weyman was to open his Eagles account with a goal after within the opening minute. Just a minute later and Scott Townsend was to add another to give the Eagles a 8-0 lead. Less than 15 seconds later and a goal from Mark Wheeler found the net. Not done there Mark then added another goal 15 seconds later to put the Eagles 10-0 up. Further goals were to follow and Matt Salisbury was to get on the score sheet after 46 minutes. Scott Townsend was to round off his hat trick after 53 minutes before goals from Azir Khalid in the 58 minute and Andris Elge in the 59 minute was to seal off a 14-0 win.

Eagles Man of the Match went to Paolo Weyman and Coaches Star of the match went to Dave Wamner.

Other key event of the night goes to Serge Luceau who recorded a shut out in his 50th appearance for the club.
